outdoor Alliance (OA), a coalition of six member-based national outdoor advocacy groups dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of our public lands and waters, is pleased to report significant and measurable progress in 2009. Fighting for the outdoor community across policies including Roadless Area Conservation, Climate Protection and Hardrock Mining Reform, outdoor Alliance continued to champion the role of public lands while developing new partnerships that will help them meet the challenges 2010 will bring.

To support Adventurer/Activist Eric Larsen s Save the Poles initiative, Optic Nerve, the Denver-based sport sunglass manufacturer, will give a free pair of their eco-friendly FORESEE sunglasses to everyone who makes a donation of $20 or more to Save the Poles during the Winter outdoor Retailer trade show. Larsen will be on hand at the Optic Nerve booth (#35165) on Saturday, January 23 from 4-5:30pm to answer questions and display pictures of the first leg of his expedition.
Exxel outdoors Donates 1,000 Sleeping Bags to Haiti Relief Efforts
The Exxel outdoors Alabama factory has donated 1,000 sleeping bags, including the freight costs to the Miami center for the airlift to Haiti. Exxel arranged this through Pan American Relief, part of the Pan American Development Foundation.
